Thanks to those who have been interested in helping out with my cookbook experience. It's slowly taking form, and I like the shape that it is taking. It's turning into a photo book of recipes, most based on a healthy/conscious way of eating, healthy, but delicious. (the sample above is of a couple desserts, not so healthy for the body, but more for the soul, bare with me) I am going to include lots of big photos, of food, of vegetables, fruits, plants, and nature. The book aims at reconciling our eating to nature - still working on that.

Speaking of this, anyone really good with naming, I need a name, a title, ideas?

I love to take photos, I love to cook, I love to design, smash them all together, what do you get? ...

I really want to make/design a recipe book for portfolio and experience reasons. Why not with help from my friends?? I was thinking of an idea for a cookbook and what came to mind was what my friends like to cook. What do you have on a typical night? It doesn't have to be fancy or anything, actually, the more realistic it is, the better. That's the point. I want to put together a recipe book of real recipes, real meals: snacks, Lunch, Breakfast, Dinner, Dessert, whatever. It could be your own recipe, a family recipe, or even a recipe you got from a book/online. For example, your mom's artichoke dip, or your grandma's spaghetti, or your flour-less chocolate cake. Everyone is invited, anyone interested?

I need to know if you're on board asap, I need recipes by January 31st, and I will hopefully print circa February 15th. Those involved will get a complimentary copy. So..?? Respond, or email me.

Hungry Girl Cook Book

I recently worked as a consultant on a project called Hungry Girl. It's a recipe book designed by a great designer named Elizabeth. She needed help "making it into a book," thats where I came in.

I have worked on countless books and have dealt with many printers, so I was able to help Hungry Girl through this process. Even with experience, there will always be glitches! =) But we did it, the book is at the printer! Success!

A Creative Collaborative ... ?

My name is Amanda, I like to create things.

I've been designing for about 4 1/2 years. I have worked on a variety of projects: logos, book covers, book design, calendars, cd covers, wedding invites, and so on.

I also enjoy photography, I mainly do this for fun. I have taken wedding photos, kid photos, family photos, and other random shoots.

I don't have a website and people have requested information, a portfolio and samples of work, but I am not that advanced. So, hopefully this can be all in one for now. Click here for a partial design portfolio.

Recently, I have had a desire to create a collaborative. I like to run my ideas by other people, I love to see other people's ideas, basically, I like ideas to be refined. I have asked some of my creative/talented friends to help me in this venture (for compensation, of course) and I can't wait to see where this leads. Friends, if you're interested, let me know.
